The wine is deep red in colour and has intense aromas of dark berries and spice with hints of black pepper. The palate expresses rich dark berries with spicy notes and silky tannins. A complex, powerful yet elegant cool climate Shiraz.
Robert Parker 93 Points Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Nest Egg Shiraz is profoundly scented of blackberry preserves, baked plums and Christmas cake with hints of licorice and smoky bacon. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety in the mouth, it packs in the berry preserves and spice box flavors, finishing long and layered.
Inky ruby. Ripe cherry and blueberry scents are complemented by building licorice, vanilla and mocha nuances. Concentrated and appealingly sweet, showing no rough edges to the sweet black and blue fruit, cola and spicecake flavors. In a plush, open-knit style, delivering impressive finishing punch, velvety tannins and a suave, lingering cherry liqueur quality.
This Adelaide Hills Shiraz shows its cooler climate roots with its restrained nature and medium-body. A bouquet of plum pudding, mint jelly and dried green herbs is knit together by dusty, savory tannins.
