This wine comes from a wonderful vineyard in Chassagne Montrachet and is vinified in 10% new French oak for 14 months and then in stainless steel for 3 months in order to retain its minerality and freshness. A classic Chassagne rouge nose with notes of pepper, pungent iron-infused earth, plum and red berries. There is good richness with fine power and plenty of mid-palate concentration that evidences mild rusticity on the long, balanced and mouth coating finish. There is mild austerity and excellent character. This is textbook Morgeot in a built-to-age package.
