Morgado Cellars Sage Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Even more impressive than the 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet, is the Sage Ridge Vineyard Cabernet, which comes from a mountainous vineyard situated above Lake Hennessey. This is another is a stunning release from Morgado Cellars in this vintage, as it begins with alluring aromatics of ripe dark cherries, currants, violets, sweet exotic spices, dried sage, dusty minerals all bursting from the glass. On the palate, this is full-bodied and beautifully structured with polished, velvety tannins, and outstanding overall depth and concentration. It goes on to impress with its wonderful purity, as well as a remarkable combination of ripe fruit and acidity, which keeps it fresh and inviting through the long, supple finish. While this is sensational now, it also has the potential to age gracefully for many years to come. Drink through 2020-2036
Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Ridge gives fragrant crème de cassis, spiced black cherries, preserved plums and lilacs with touches of chocolate box, wood smoke and tobacco plus a hint of crushed stones.
