A dark, exotic Cabernet Sauvignon nearly splitting at the seams with fruit and spice notes. The wine exhibits a completely opaque dark purple hue in the glass with a violet halo. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) from Caterwaul is one of the very best values readers will find in high-end Napa Cabernet. Ripeness has come down a bit in this bottling, but the style is still pretty high-octane. A rush of dark cherry jam, mocha, licorice, spice and leather open in the glass. The 2019 is vibrant and full of character. I loved it.
