Such a pretty nose of cooking spice, red and black cherries, and dried garden herbs. Full-bodied with excellent depth and nuance. Silky tannins. Whole black pepper and spiced cherry make the palate hum. There is a deft hand at work here. There is so much exciting energy to the ripe, balanced fruit. The 2019 Syrah The Beautiful comes from the Powerline Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley and is 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier that saw 50% new French oak. It's another classic, slightly Northern Rhône-like effort offering darker cherry and currant fruits as well as some iron, tapenade, and peppery herb aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated, and seamless, it has ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and outstanding length.

Shows expression and verve, with blackberry and stony mineral aromas and impressively structured roasted meat, plum and espresso flavors that finish with refined tannins. Drink now through 2024. 1,054 cases made.
