Vinous

Limpid ruby-red. Bright and focused on the nose, displaying an array of red and dark berry scents complemented by suggestions of pungent herbs, vanilla and dried flowers. Picks up a spicy note with air, sharpening the gently sweet, nicely concentrated cherry and black raspberry flavors; a smoky quality develops on the back half. Fine-grained tannins lend shape to the persistent finish, which leaves notes of bitter cherry and candied rose behind.

This block-designated wine features 30-year-old Pommard clone fruit. It's a tasty mix of berry, plum, blood orange and lemon peel flavors, with a touch of bitter grapefruit. Well structured and buoyed by ample acidity, it falls on the darker, earthier side of Oregon Pinot Noir.
