There's a lot to admire in this medium- to full-bodied red. Opens with a whiff of chrysanthemum and smoky game, while the palate is rich, creamy and built around juicy black cherry, blackberry and açaí flavors that are well-spiced. Finishes with great length around firm but integrated tannins, showing notes of ground ginger and chocolate. Drink now through 2026. 22,000 cases made, 1,450 cases imported.

The 2019 Syrah Alpha Colchagua was 55% aged for 12 months in French barrels. Dense purple in color, featuring aromas of pepper, blackberry jam and sandalwood, with the oak framing layers of smoke and herbs. Juicy with a slightly compact flow, the palate is ripe, while spicy flavors develop at the back of the throat. A well-made wine.

Strawberry and hints of black olive shape the aromatic nose. Red fruit flavors are followed by hints of oak and dried herbs on the palate. It has medium acidity, rounded tannins and a medium pleasant finish.
