Fresh, sweet and tart fruits, licorice, earth and a hint of dark chocolate in a forward, plummy, open, early drinking style. Aged in 100% new, French oak barrels for between 18 to 20 months. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc.
The wine is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes. Clos de la Vieille Eglise is also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta.

Features a saturated feel, with plum sauce, blackberry preserves and steeped raspberry notes all lined with anise, red licorice and singed spice. Shows fine-grained structure on the finish. Solid. Drink now through 2019. 700 cases made, 50 cases imported.
