Our TOR Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is sourced from Tierra Roja and Skellenger Vineyards. Drive the Oakville Cross Road to the Silverado Trail, directly look forward and up. This is Tierra Roja, a small four-acre jewel of a hillside vineyard. Great neighbors – Backus, Screaming Eagle, Maya and Rudd. The vineyard is dotted with big rocks, and the soil is definitely roja (very red). You might expect the wines to be massive, but they are very perfumed, dark, and complex – more like Screaming Eagle than neighbor Dalla Valle. Below Tierra Roja on the west side of the Trail is Skellenger with a long history of excellent Oakville wines.
This vintage shows the classic Oakville cabernet notes of cassis, wet earth and black cherry. Upon tasting you are struck with the very rich/dense and long palate that shows the lift and brightness that Oakville brings to cabernet. There is bittersweet chocolate, mint, tobacco and espresso as the wine tails off to a long and silky finish.

"The 2019 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is another stunning wine from Tor. It impresses with its incredibly pure and fresh aromatics of ripe blackberries and black cherries that are woven together with pencil shavings, sweet spices, wet gravel and hints of violets and fresh sage. On the palate this is full-bodied and structured with beautiful round polished tannins that result in a gorgeous voluptuous mouthfeel. This possesses a wonderful elegant character as well as outstanding concentration and volume all the way through the seamless finish. This is another simply brilliant wine from Tor that is fantastic today, but will also age gracefully."

This seductive wine rolls up all the velvety appeal of Oakville Cabernet in a bottle that's comparatively affordable for what many consider Napa's best AVA for Cab. Plump dark plums, black currants, dark chocolate and cinnamon come to mind while savoring this full-bodied but gentle wine. Tannins are profuse but silky, so the wine is enjoyable already. Best from 2025-2035.

Lots of dark plums and berries with some fresh bay leaf. Full-to medium-bodied with round, velvety tannins, but in a reserved way. So delicious now. Selection of Terra Roja and Skellenger vineyards.

Lots of ripe black fruits, roasted herbs, new leather, and lead pencil notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, a rich, meaty, medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that picks up some classic Oakville iron and olive notes with air. Jeff and Tor both believe this is the finest vintage for this cuvée they've done, and I'm hard-pressed to argue with them.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a powerful, burly wine. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and menthol power through in this decidedly burly Oakville Cabernet. There's not a ton of finesse here, at least not yet. This still needs to come together. The 2021 is the first year that includes fruit from Tench.
