Château Garreau 2019 (Côtes de Bourg) is a GREAT VALUE, very well made, and very pleasant wine, made by Paul Junet. It is fruit-forward, and pleasant, but with good density and weight, way above what its price point would suggest.

Notes of wild berries, cherries, plums, dried leaves, and baking spices on the nose. Medium to full-bodied with firm tannins. The plum character on the palate with structure and a polished, chewy finish. Drink after 2023.

The producer has vineyards in Bourg and also in neighboring Blaye. With smooth tannins and scintillating black fruits, this wine is structured and will age. Hints of dark coffee add complexity.
